A Shopify Migration Checklist for UAE Brands

A successful migration is a structured change programme, not a data export. Use this guide to make the decisions that protect customers, teams, and organic visibility before the new store goes live.

1. Inventory what exists

List products, variants, customers, orders, content, integrations, tracking, and every URL that currently brings a useful visitor.

2. Define the future data model

Decide how products, collections, customer fields, and operational states should work in Shopify before moving records.

3. Test the moments that matter

Run real scenarios for discovery, checkout, fulfilment, returns, account access, customer emails, and the redirects that protect valuable pages.

4. Scope a WooCommerce-to-Shopify migration

Audit the WordPress theme, plugins, custom fields, product types, reviews, subscriptions, customer access, historical orders, and ranking URLs. Agree which features Shopify or selected apps will replace. Test representative products and order records before scheduling the final import. A product CSV alone does not establish that your customer accounts, subscriptions, plugin behaviour, or historical data will transfer correctly.

5. Plan Magento and Adobe Commerce workflows

Map store views, languages, price lists, customer groups, catalogue relationships, promotions, and operational integrations to the proposed Shopify architecture. Decide whether the business requirements justify Shopify Plus. Record which processes will be rebuilt, simplified, retained externally, or retired, and obtain acceptance from merchandising, finance, customer service, and fulfilment owners before cutover.

6. Create a migration acceptance sheet

For each data type, record source count, destination count, transformations, exceptions, and sign-off owner. For each valuable URL, record the new destination and redirect result. Reconcile prices, stock, taxes, images, languages, payment/refund journeys, and analytics against representative records. Keep a final-data window and rollback decision with named owners, then monitor indexing and orders after launch.
